First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Digimarc.
Data Engineer
The interview process had 4 rounds. It started with an HR screen, followed by a technical interview, then a behavioral one. The last round felt more like a casual chat with people from different teams. They asked some technical questions, but they were pretty straightforward.
- Tell me about a time you faced a frustrating situation at work and what you did to fix it.
HR Intern
The interview process was pretty standard. I had an initial chat with a recruiter, and then a follow-up with the head of the department. Unfortunately, they told me I didn't get the job because the other candidate they had accepted the offer. They said they were lucky the other candidate accepted.
- Were you asked any technical questions regarding your knowledge of Excel?
Senior QA Engineer
I interviewed with Digimarc about two weeks ago. The whole process felt really long and like a waste of my time. It started with an initial recruiter phone call, followed by a second interview with the Director of QA and another QA team member. This second interview was scheduled for 45 minutes but ended up going for an hour and a half. I got rejected the very next morning, which makes me think they're disorganized. They should've figured out I wasn't a good fit within 30 minutes, but instead, they decided to drag it out and waste my time for a job that pays way below market rate with hardly any benefits. If I had moved on, the next steps would've included a coding challenge for automation (which, by the way, their current team members don't even understand), another interview with several team members, and a final one with an executive. Honestly, if you value your time, don't bother interviewing with this company; they seem to have no clue what they're doing.
- Can you explain the distinction between quality and testing, and describe your relationship with Developers?
- What is the difference between quality and testing, and what is your relationship with developers?
Junior QA Engineer
Had a 30 minute phone interview where they went over my resume and asked about my experience. Then, a few days later, I was invited for an in-person interview. I met with three different people for 30 minutes each. They mostly asked about my school projects (since I'm a recent grad) and my programming background. They had me do some coding on a whiteboard, focusing on my problem-solving skills with some challenging coding questions. They also asked me to figure out a function based on verbal input/output examples.
- Can you guess what this function does based on verbal input and output numbers I provide?
- I'll give you numbers verbally and tell you the output of a function; what do you think the function is doing?
