The interview for the Library Student Worker at Dickinson College was super quick and easy. They explained everything really well, which made it all very simple and clear. I got a good look at what the job involves, what they expect, and how the scheduling works. They were nice and helpful, and I felt pretty relaxed, plus they answered everything I asked. It was put together well and gave me all the info I needed.

The interview process started with a Zoom meeting with two OEI Directors from the CSSJ. After a few weeks, I was invited for a second interview on campus. This time, I met with three other directors and a student worker. I really enjoyed meeting everyone and was very excited about the opportunity. They said I'd hear back either way, but unfortunately, I never did. Even after sending two follow-up emails, I received no response. I was disappointed not to get a reply, even if it was a rejection.

You apply to a department you're qualified to teach in. If they like your application and you have the expertise they need, a small group will call you. If you do well on the phone call, you might be one of 3-5 people invited to campus for a day or two of interviews. Usually, you'll meet with faculty, administrators, and students in your major. You'll also "teach" a class so the hiring committee can see how you teach and if you know your stuff.
