I had a quick call with HR first, then a conference call with the hiring manager and an associate. After that, I went through a panel round with 3 engineers, and finally had a call with the EVP. The whole process took about a month. I also had to give a presentation for the panel interview and needed to have my portfolio ready for the hiring manager and associate round.

Behavioral Technical Coding

It started with a quick call with HR, then another phone chat with someone from the technical team, followed by more involved interviews with different people. Since it was mid-2020, everything was done over Zoom. There were a total of 6 interviews, each lasting an hour, with 3 on the first day and 3 on the second. They asked about my background and a lot about my approach to process engineering and general problem-solving. The CTO threw in a few 'test' questions, like 'how could you measure temperature in a particular process?' or 'how would you design a certain type of experiment?', which were pretty basic. I thought the interviews went great, so I was surprised not to get an offer. They probably found someone with more relevant experience.

A recruiter reached out to set up a call with the manager. I had a 30-min video chat with the hiring manager, but that was it for me. The questions were pretty technical, which I wasn't ready for, and the interviewer was kinda cold and not super friendly. They also didn't seem to pay much attention to what I was saying, and there was a lot of background noise they never sorted out, making it hard to hear. It left me feeling like it wouldn't be a very supportive place to work. Then they ghosted me, which, after seeing other reviews, doesn't surprise me.

The hiring process has 3 main stages, with a month wait between each. It starts with a phone call for a sanity check, followed by a team interview where each member asks questions. Then there's a cultural fit check and a manager interview. Finally, if all goes well, there's an interview with the HR boss for negotiation.
