Sales
It was a four stage process. First, a recruiter screen. Then, video calls with the team panel, and the manager. The last stage was a presentation to the management and team members. Each stage was about 30-45 minutes. The whole thing took about 3-5 weeks, mostly due to scheduling. They actually told me the day before my presentation that they'd already offered the job to someone else and canceled my interview.
- Is there anything you’d like to share about yourself that we should know?
Sales Representative
Recruiter reached out, but then cancelled our first interview 5 mins before, citing lack of budget. A week or two later, they rescheduled. The recruiter was late for that call. Then I had a phone interview and an in-person interview. I wasn't told the in-person would be with three people for two hours. I followed up after each stage, but after the final in-person, I never heard back. The recruiter eventually said they were 'checking the field.' It was unprofessional, not even in a scrappy startup way. I would have been fine with a template email, but after multiple interviews and meeting the team, they should have just told me they weren't interested instead of ghosting me.
- Describe a situation where you had to overcome an objection and how you deal with rejection.
- In what type of work environment do you perform best?
- What makes you want to pursue this opportunity?
Sales Representative
I applied online. About a week after submitting my application, a recruiter contacted me and set up a phone interview. The first call was mostly an info session for me to learn about the company and role, and for the recruiter to get to know me. It lasted about 45 minutes. After that, the recruiter scheduled a second phone interview with a current Sales Representative, which took about a week to set up. This second interview was more focused on the day-to-day tasks of the job and lasted around 30 minutes, mostly asking resume-related questions and hypothetical "what would you do in this situation?" questions. About a week after the second interview, I had an in-person interview at the office with two Sales Managers. They gave me a tour of the office too. This interview focused more on my career potential and how I'd fit into the company culture, discussing past job challenges and how I handled them, as well as sales-related problems and my approach to solving them.
- How would you order sales leads in terms of priority?
- What are your long-term career aspirations over the next decade?
- Can you share an example of a challenge you successfully navigated in a previous position?
