First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dialpad.
Sales Engineer
First, I had an interview with a recruiter focused on sales engineering. They asked standard open-ended questions about my experience relevant to the role, explained the interview stages, and shared useful info about Dialpad's progress, market standing, and culture. The second interview was with the hiring manager. We discussed challenging daily scenarios, exciting wins, and team dynamics, which felt very authentic. Unlike many managers who avoid discussing internal or role-specific challenges, he was upfront about them. Beyond typical role-specific questions, he gave me his perspective on the competitive market, what's good but could be improved, and team dynamics, demonstrating strong leadership. Even though the role was just filled the day before, he was optimistic about HR approving more hires and thought my resume was a strong fit. He also provided excellent advice about Dialpad and practical tips for standing out. I was extremely impressed with him and what I learned about Dialpad; that's the kind of company I'd love to join.

Sales Engineer
The interview process was quick and went smoothly. First, I talked to a recruiter, then the hiring manager, and finally had an onsite interview. The onsite included meeting with an HR recruiter, a sales director, a sales rep, and two people from the team I would be joining.
- What qualities do you believe define a successful salesperson?
Sales Engineer
I spoke with an HR screener who seemed to be having a really rough day and might need to adjust her medication. The job's salary and logistics were advertised misleadingly. When I asked about the company, the answers were evasive, dishonest, or simply "I don't know." It feels like they're trying to jump on the AI trend with a rebrand, but there's no real substance. Good luck to them with that!
