The interview process was really straightforward, mainly focusing on your past experience and a teaching demo presentation. Everyone was professional and friendly. They asked some behavioral questions too. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I got the offer pretty quickly, in under a month, though the HR part was a little slow.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview process here is super formal and kinda intense. You're interviewed by a whole panel of folks. Most of them are pretty hard to read, like they're totally neutral when you answer. A few might nod, but it's rare. It's not really a chat, more like rapid-fire questions and answers. No time for small talk. You also have to do a teaching presentation, which needs a lot of prep. DVC's hiring timeline for professors is one of the latest.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

There's something really sketchy going on, or they're in some legal hot water. They gave me the interview questions 15 minutes before, and an EEO officer was there. They were super rigid with their script, trying to be as blank as possible. They never seemed interested in telling me why it might be a good place to work. The questions were pretty standard, but they made it feel really unwelcoming, like I was just cattle. Had two interviews, didn't get an offer.

It was a screening interview. I met three really nice people who made me feel at home. I was able to see the questions during the interview and even a few minutes before. The whole thing took about 30 minutes, and I got to ask some questions at the end. They told me at the end of the interview that they'd let me know the next week if I was moving on. They did reach out a week later, but unfortunately, they were looking for other candidates.
