The whole thing took around two months. After I applied, they emailed me saying my application was being processed. Then, they set up an interview for the following week. I got the job offer right then and there.

I interviewed for a LAB Assistant role with the microbiology department at DHR. I arrived 15 minutes early and saw a couple of other people being interviewed. When it was my turn, they gave me a tour of the microbiology department and showed me what my responsibilities would be. They asked about what I was looking for in the position and why I applied. They also asked some personal questions about my future aspirations and my hobbies. I really enjoyed the interview process; it felt more like a casual conversation than a strict Q&A. I didn't get an offer, possibly due to a scheduling conflict with the required hours, but I can't be sure.

I had one phone interview with the Director of my department and their second-in-command. Mostly they talked about the department's culture and the type of person they were looking for. I was qualified, but it seemed like personality fit was more important than work experience. The department had a few different roles they thought I might fit, so they had me apply to each one online. The application requires agreeing to a background check, though I'm not sure if it was completed. I got an offer fairly quickly. There was a small financial obstacle to leaving my old job, and when I asked the HR person about it, they just increased the offer to cover it. After accepting, there was a health screening (TB test, which I assume is standard for hospitals) and a drug test.

My interview experience with the DHR hiring team was really good and enjoyable. They didn't mention I'd be interviewed by five people. I walked in, shook everyone's hands, sat down, and we got straight to it. They asked me to talk about myself. They asked specific questions about active directory and others that required me to explain my thinking process. The questions weren't all at once; they were asked sequentially. They inquired about my technical background and education. Like many tech jobs, they stressed the importance of being a self-starter, self-motivator, and self-monitor to prioritize tickets. They were open about the day-to-day tasks, including being on call monthly and working across different buildings or even cities. They threw in a curveball to test my quick thinking and response under pressure. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with a seemingly great group of people. The interview concluded with an expected waiting time of about 4 days for a potential offer.
