First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DHL Consulting.
Consultant Intern
I applied online and then got a call about the interview process. First, there was an online assessment, which is pretty standard for consulting/banking internships. After that, I was invited to an interview day. The day before, there was an info session where they introduced DHLC and we could ask questions. For my two interviews (full-time has four), I was asked a behavioral question that was emailed beforehand so we could prep, and also given a case. The case was mostly interview-led, with some strategy/operations focus and a semi-related quantitative part. It was a pretty straightforward case. I got feedback and an offer within two hours of finishing the case.
- Describe a time you faced challenges in a team.
- Share an instance where you set ambitious personal goals and achieved them.
Intern
I applied online and then got an assessment within a week. After doing well on the assessment, I got a call saying I fit the organization's background but lacked experience for the role. It felt a bit odd to be rejected for an internship based on that, but the feedback was clear, and they even gave me tips for future applications.
- The online assessment included both verbal and numerical reasoning sections. The numerical part had a lot of time pressure, but the questions were clear.
Intern
After I submitted my application, I got a call right away. Following the phone call, I received an invitation to an interview which was 5 days later. In the first interview, they checked my personal motivation and I had to solve a small application problem. In the second interview, I only had to solve application problems. There is no preparation time, you have to explain the solution to the employee immediately. You have to proceed very structurally, argue understandably, and be good at math. A calculator may not be used. Right after the interview, I received an offer.
- I have to say honestly that there were no tricky questions. It is only important that you appear convincing and clearly turn towards the person conducting the interview. Soft skills are very important for the company culture.
