First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Deutsch LA.
Account Coordinator
The interview process felt pretty easy and not too stressful. It had about three simple rounds where they mostly asked common interview questions about my experience, background, and how I'd handle situations.
- Can you share an instance where you encountered a challenge and describe your approach to overcoming it?
Graphic Designer
They reached out to schedule the interviews and I spoke with a senior designer in the first round. The head of design was my interviewer for the final round. They initially indicated that an offer would be extended if HR approved. However, HR reacted very poorly and rudely upon hearing about a delay in my EAD card printing. Despite my assurances that I could meet their timeline and my subsequent receipt of the EAD card, they decided to hire another candidate.
- Can you describe your design process?
Studio Artist
I skipped the initial HR chat because I already knew people at the company. The main interview was with the head of the Studio department, right in the middle of the open studio. It felt pretty awkward and the interviewer seemed unprepared. It wasn't too bad overall, but afterwards I realized I didn't really want to work in their design studio. It was telling that even the top person in the department didn't have their own office or even a cubicle.
- Do you think you'll be on TV?
Account Supervisor
I knew the HR managers and submitted my resume directly to them. Then I met with the account directors on the biz and spoke at length to each in order to determine which role would best befit me. I sent a handwritten thank you and also sent email follow-ups with additional details as promised per our discussion. I received an offer a few days later.
- Tell me why you would be a good fit for this role.
- What sets you apart from the others.
