First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Destination Pet.
Recruiter
It was a super easy interview process, I talked to two recruiters who asked me about how much work I can handle and the wins and losses I've had in past jobs. Like, how many job reqs did you handle?
- Can you tell me how many job requisitions you were responsible for?
Customer Service Representative
I applied online and the recruiter reached out to me for a chat. Then I went in person to meet the clinic manager and the lead CSR.
- How do you handle an upset or difficult client?
Pet Care Team Member
I interviewed at Canine Fitness and Fun Center in Colorado, and it was one of the worst job interviews I've ever had. The interviewer was super intense, it felt like a lecture. He'd ask a question and then I could only get in like a sentence before he'd cut me off and lecture about things like coming in on time, working hard. He seemed like he was trying to make it sound difficult and unrewarding working there; he brought up the fact that they have a high turnover rate and hinted at poor management. He mentioned some workers getting so frustrated they just straight up walked out and never came back. Most of the questions clearly reflected on the company's priority for money rather than a passion for dogs. He asked if I had entrepreneurial ambitions and talked about rising within management and corporate positions. He also asked how I felt about "coworkers complaining about low pay." He bragged about how CFFC is soo much better than their competitors down the street, Camp Bow Wow, because they have power washers that make cleaning up after the dogs easier. But he also told me that you basically get no days off or sick days until you have worked there at least 6 months. I'll clean dog pee with a mop bucket any day over a harsh and critical management.
- Tell me about yourself, why do you want to work here, how many hours do you want, etc.
- He lectured me about responsibility.
- He asked me about entrepreneurship crap.
Pet Care Associate
The interview was really fast and easy with management. Since this was my first job interview in pet care, they mostly asked about my animal experience. They let me know about my job status quickly and were very communicative.
- Could you describe your experience working with pets?
