First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Design Systems, Inc..
Project Specialist
I had a phone call that quickly turned into a Zoom interview. It went well. They asked me about my schooling and past jobs. I also got asked what I knew about the company.
- How many years have you worked in surveying and with what kind of equipment?
Simulation Engineer
Had one interview with the hiring manager. He is super knowledgeable about simulation and asked specific details about my experience. He made a fast decision on my fit. The whole process was really streamlined.
- Can you share something personal about yourself that isn't listed on your resume?
- What kind of simulation projects have you worked on?
- Which software packages have you utilized for your simulation work?
Industrial Engineer
The interviewer was very rude and unprofessional. When I asked about how they would help with career paths, they became angry and said they didn't expect people to get promoted within a few years. I would have been okay if they mentioned needing more experience, but it's disappointing for a leader to say people can't get promoted soon and aren't even allowed to expect it. I feel bad for the employees and don't want to work for a company that doesn't care about employee development. I didn't continue with the company because I was so disappointed with the culture after the interview. Best wishes to whoever gets the position.
- Tell me about your resume.
Project Engineer
Got a cold call from the recruiter handling the account. The interview went okay, but I was let down by their response afterward. They said they couldn't support my work/lifestyle balance, even though I said a 40-hour week was ideal and they mentioned averaging 42 hours. I thought that was fine. The interview ended around 3 PM, and some people were leaving for the day. Their reason for rejection was about not being able to support my work/lifestyle balance. I got the vibe they expected new PMs to regularly work 50 hours for 40 hours of pay. Save yourself the time.
- Can you tell me about your experience in the coating industry?
