First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Derrick.
Application Developer
The interview process starts by discussing your roles and responsibilities. After that, there will be technical questions. I feel everything is relevant to your scope. The interview level is medium, not too hard and not easy. You can just be ready with your skillset.
- Could you tell me about your project?
Estimator
They are very friendly and professional people. They explain the goals, possibilities, and opportunities of working at this great team and a clear plan for the future. They are a very professional team that supports their members.
- Can you tell me about your relevant experience?
- What is your background?
- What are you interested in?
Office Administration
This was one of the best interview processes I have experienced. It started with a Teams call with administration (Round 1), followed by another Teams call with a VP (Round 2). The final round was an in-person interview with several office staff members. This part was the most engaging because they have candidates meet with various people to ensure personality compatibility. I feel more companies should adopt this approach, as it truly allows you to gauge who you would be working with and for. Although it was a lengthy interview process, it was quite important.
- Do you have children?
- What's your favorite part of your current role?
- What's the most challenging aspect of your job?
Security Officer
The interview process was difficult, hard, and confusing. It was based on past work experiences, focusing on where you worked, your role there, and your achievements. It also covered skills development, behavioral aspects, CPR, First Aid, door supervision, incident handling, licensing, and organization.
- Can you recount a workplace incident you dealt with and explain your approach?
- Tell me about your previous employment history.
- What was your specific role in your past jobs?
