The process was good, and they made changes when I asked. It was friendly and professional. Things moved smoothly from when I applied to the interview. They were flexible with my availability because I was working. I felt heard, and they wanted me to succeed.

Presentation Behavioral

The interview process involved writing a speech for an event and then answering work-based scenarios, followed by a standard Q&A. A significant downside was having to repeatedly ask for the interview outcome and feedback, similar to a past experience. This poor administrative handling caused personal anxiety. The HR department should ensure they actively manage this, not just rely on the hiring department.

I applied online and then got invited to a Zoom interview. The first 20 minutes of the interview were spent on a problem-solving question. After that, a panel of 4 people asked me to present my solutions, and then the actual interview began.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The application was a bit confusing since it was general and parts were irrelevant. I got a call two weeks after applying saying it was successful, and arranged an interview for the following week. The interview itself wasn't about the job, more like a general assessment of character and work ethic with questions like "Why do you want this job," "why have you chosen Derby City Council," and "What can you bring to our company." It only lasted ten minutes and was easy to get through. After being told I was successful, which took four days, I had a skills assessment specific to the IT job. This involved a roleplay managing two face-to-face complaints (one customer, one team member) and a practical test changing a PC's PSU, CPU, and Hard Disk. They offered me the job a week later by post.
