Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DePuy Synthes.
Sales Consultant
First there was a recruiter screen, then a pre-recorded interview where I had to answer some prompts. After that, I had a hiring manager screen, followed by an interview with the hiring manager and a senior sales consultant. The fourth stage was a meeting with surgeons, but I didn't get to that point because I realized the geography for the role wasn't a good fit for me.
- Can you share an example of how you've leveraged market data to construct a persuasive sales argument?
Sales Consultant
It usually kicks off with a recorded video interview. After that, you'll chat with a regional sales manager. Then, they'll set you up with a senior sales consultant to give you a better feel for the role and the team. Following that, you'll connect with other team members to ensure you'll fit in well with the team and company culture. The final stage involves in-person interviews, and depending on the applicant, there might be a demo, or even some time spent at an account.
- How do you handle ethical dilemmas?
- Can you describe your experience working in a team?
- How flexible are you with your work schedule?
Sales Consultant
The interview process spanned nearly 9 months and included 3 main stages. Initially, there was a CV review and a discussion about sales experience with two managers. This was followed by a product presentation, also assessed by two managers. The final stage involved an interview with upper management at the Sydney Head Office, again with two managers, and then a one-on-one with the President.
- They mentioned they had Googled me and found a travel blog post from 2003, stating they like to know who they are employing.
