First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DePuy Synthes.
Intern
I had a ZOOM INTERVIEW with 3 panel members. It was a formal interview where they asked 2 technical questions. I used the star technique to answer. I didn't hear back for 3-4 weeks and unfortunately didn't get the role.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
Co-Op
The interview process was quite lengthy. I had interviews with five different engineers, split between the Spine and Trauma teams, with each interview lasting around 45 minutes. During my discussions with the Spine engineers, I was presented with some creative challenges to gauge my ability to think outside the box on open-ended problems. Specifically, I had to brainstorm and list as many solutions as possible to a given problem within a one-minute timeframe. In contrast, my interviews with the Trauma team involved a more in-depth look at their day-to-day work, and I had more opportunities to ask questions compared to my interactions with the Spine team.
- What are all the ways you can think of to move two cylinders together without using your hands?
Controlling Intern
The interview was with the Finance Director Switzerland, lasted about 90 minutes. We introduced ourselves and got to know each other in a friendly atmosphere. It was important that I had my own ideas about the job and could illustrate them. Since I knew what interested me, I was even able to choose the area where I did the internship (EMEA).
