DePuy Synthes Engineer Interview Questions
& Process

The interview process was rubbish. The interviewer looked very unprepared. They didn't even bother to read my CV beforehand and had no questions prepared. They asked about stuff I don't have experience in, like polymerization with powders? Polymerization is a wide subject... They didn't even bother to contact me back (and they talk about ethos, that tells me a lot about the company). I came all the way from London to Blackpool... at least bother to reply to people attending the interview. My feedback to the company is to read the CV very well before they consider people for interviews instead of wasting their time and declining people regarding their experience, since they could have seen that beforehand from their CVs.

The interview process included an initial phone screen, followed by another phone interview. Then, there was an in-person interview that involved taking an exam and presenting the results to a group. After that, I had individual meetings with several people. The whole process felt unnecessarily long, stretching over two months, and at times unprofessional. It took six weeks to get a formal offer after they indicated they wanted to hire me. When the offer was finally made, it was significantly lower than what we had discussed earlier in the process. I declined the offer because a competing offer from Depuy-Synthes was substantially higher than their offer, and I couldn't afford to take a pay cut given the cost of living. When I explained this, they gave me a 24-hour ultimatum to accept or reject the offer. The HR representative was quite rude when I informed them I was turning down the offer. I decided to walk away, feeling the negotiation process was handled dishonestly.

Full day of interviews, 5 interviews. I met with multiple people, sometimes meeting with more than 1 person at a time. I got lunch with some of the managers, and mostly the day was geared toward learning about DePuy and the position
