Product Manager
Many stages for a junior role. They even had a whiteboard session, which felt a bit much. It was frustrating that after the third stage, they didn't tell me why I didn't pass to the next stage.
- What new features or additions would you suggest for the app?
Senior Product Manager
The hiring process was quite lengthy, taking about two months. It involved six interview rounds, including a presentation and a live task. It seemed like almost everyone in the organization was involved in interviewing. In the end, the hiring manager decided I might be too senior for the position, which was surprising given it's something they should have assessed early on. It left a really negative impression, though I suppose it means I avoided a role that wasn't a good fit.
- Could you present your strategy to the VP of Product and a Head of Product?
- Design a feature for sending an offer, allowing users to propose a price to the seller.
Product Manager
It was a phone screen with the in-house recruiter, then a chat with the VP of Product, followed by an interview with the Head of Product and CTO. After that, there was a presentation of a take-home assignment to the VP of Product, VP of Marketing, Head of Design, and Head of Data. Overall, it was a really enjoyable interview process and the culture seems good. The feedback from the final round, which was a presentation on how to bring off-platform engagement onto the platform, was that I didn't seem to have a clear way to involve stakeholders, even though I presented a cross-functional triple diamond discovery model. So, if you talk to them, make sure to emphasize that. The only downside was that I had to repeatedly chase the recruitment team after being ghosted for about a week at each stage.
- Can you describe how to bring social engagement that happens off-platform into the product?
