First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dental Intelligence.
Controller
I applied for a Controller position and did a one-way video interview. They told me I did well and that I'd move on to a technical interview, but I never heard back. After three weeks of no contact, I was told they had already picked finalists, most of whom were local even though the job was remote. It felt like they didn't really consider me seriously and were just keeping me in the running to look inclusive. Honestly, I'm glad it didn't work out because it showed a lack of honesty and transparency from the company.
- Regarding ERP system implementation, which processes would you prioritize for automation or enhancement?
Director, Enterprise Onboarding
This was one of the worst interview experiences in my 10+ year career. Dental intelligence first asked me to participate in a 1 way interview. The lead recruiter does not respond to any communication, I have yet to hear from her on anything. The CCO was pleasant at first but the initial interview was a bit of a joke as she asked only mundane questions. She then asked me to complete a case study presentation. I was essentially tricked into free consulting work for the business. During my presentation it was extremely evident the CCO and another CS leader had no idea what they are doing and no idea what they are searching for in this backfilled leadership role. It was immediately clear there was a disconnect as they continued to ask me proprietary questions which I could not answer well given I don’t work at the company. The CCO and additional leader were messaging/slacking each other during the entirety of my presentation. It was incredibly rude and distracting to say the least. Lastly, they never confirmed compensation with me and she mentioned my range was high. I believe I was overqualified for the role and they sensed it. They sent a No-Reply rejection email 2 days later without ever providing feedback. These people are extremely rude and I would avoid this company like the plague.

IT Role
I interviewed with DI and after a few rounds, I got a verbal offer. The compensation was low for the industry and had no bonus for the current year. I tried to negotiate but they only made small changes that were still below industry standards, and the bonus wasn't even eligible for this year. Their benefits are also not great, and I couldn't get a clear answer on when employees last received bonuses, only that they are generally paid annually. The role was advertised as remote, which I confirmed I was only interested in during the first interview with HR, but the offer expected me to be in the office. When asked why I couldn't come on-site, I explained that the long commute disrupts my schedule and affects my health, though I did agree to come in occasionally. The interviewer then dug into my health issues, which was uncomfortable, and I ended up revealing my health situation. They even asked if my health issues affect my performance, which I found annoying but said no. This is a big red flag, and I’d avoid this company due to their tight budgets, low salaries, and high expectations. Save your time.

Technical Support Representative
I applied and the next day got a call from the Director of Support for a quick phone interview. I had to call him back later that day. He asked some questions and then asked if I was free for a zoom interview right away or another time. I said I wasn't really ready for a zoom call then, but he said it was fine to just be as I was. So we jumped on zoom. The manager for the team also joined. The interview went great! The director and manager were easy to talk to and made me feel welcome. After we talked about the role and I answered their questions, they basically offered me the job. I asked them directly if they were offering me the role, and they said they usually review more candidates but they felt I was a good fit and offered me the job. Then the HR stuff was easy. I started the following week and the onboarding was good. The Director of Support, manager, and HR director have all changed since I started, so your experience might be different. I love the company and benefits! I like the team and department culture, but the overall company culture has changed a lot and I'm not a fan. The original creativity, innovation, and passion to be the #1 software company in the dental industry seems to have left with the founders. Now the company culture is more about growth, numbers, and money. I prefer the old culture, but I understand the company needs to grow and sales is the way to do that. Overall, it's a great company and still a powerhouse in the dental/SaaS industry!
