I applied online and got shortlisted for the IGNITE Graduate Programmer role at DENSO. First, I had to complete two online SHL tests, which I passed. Then, I booked a phone interview focused on competencies. They sent me info about the competencies: Problem Solving, Quality Orientation, Effective Communication, Teamwork & Collaboration, and Commitment to Development, along with some tips. The interview started with confirming my application details and asking a quick question about skills like C programming. Then they asked 'Why DENSO?'. After that, the competency questions began, with three related questions for each of the five competencies. Finally, I got to ask my own questions, about 5-7 of them. The whole thing lasted about 40 minutes and felt very formal and professional.

I went through some online tests, first an English Verbal test where I had to interpret statements and answer questions. Then there was an Inductive reasoning test with patterns to check problem-solving skills. After that, I had a phone interview which I passed. However, there was a hidden stage where the business reviewed the assessment centre results, and they rejected me there.

I interviewed with Denso in Southfield, MI. I was a junior studying Electrical Engineering. They skipped behavior questions and focused on C++. If you are in Electrical Engineering, definitely include C++ on your resume. You don't need to be an absolute expert in C++ though.
