First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Democratic Party of Virginia.
Project Manager
Got referred by someone who works here already, the process felt a bit easier than Google but harder than Lockheed. They asked more about my personality than about the job itself. I got the sense that the person they hired before me was difficult to work with, so they were being extra careful this time.
- What is your approach to handling a promotion?
Field Organizer
The interview process was pretty straightforward and moved along quickly. There were two main interviews. The first one was mainly about explaining the role and covering the fundamentals of organizing, especially if you're new to it. The second interview focused more on your past experience and some general interview questions.
- Can you describe your previous work experience?
- What motivates your support for the democratic party?
- Which issues do you consider most significant?
Field Organizer
Submitted to JTAL/DemGAIN, looking at several races for the 2014 cycle. Got called in and went to Alexandria HQ for a several-day process to figure out if we had any experience and where we would be assigned. Also went through some personality tests/matches to let the RFD know the right way to manage FOs.
- What region do you prefer?
Field Organizer
I applied for the job through a referral and got an offer. DPVA looks for talented, hard working and passionate young people to organize on the ground. The interview process was 3 phone interviews, the last one was a conference style interview with the supervisors.
- Why are you interested in becoming an Organizer?
