We went up to the cafeteria and filled out a registration form there. Then she told us about the benefits and called us one by one for a quick interview. It was in order of form submission. Then she said she would get back to us via Gmail for the rest of the process.

The interview process took about 3 months. First, I filled out a form. Then, there was a month-long machine test. After that, another interview which lasted a month. Now I've been called for a medical exam. I'm not hopeful though. I think they don't keep people who don't have a chance until the end because, one way or another, the person gets stuck and develops false expectations.

The recruiter checked my documents, asked me some things that were already asked when I filled out the form, but she wanted to confirm everything again. Some of the questions were if I had children, if I finished high school, if I had flexible hours, and even personal questions that I found unnecessary, like if I was dating, how I managed to survive. Questions like that...

On 21/08/23, I went to the functional entrance for a sewing test. Each candidate got a badge, a clear handbag for personal items (since lunch would be provided after the test, as agreed, and everyone was told to bring a fork and knife), and a locker key. We went to the cafeteria for breakfast, and then the test started. We received ear protection and a cup for water during the test; there was also a bathroom in the room. We were told there would be two lunch groups, one at 11 am and another around 12 pm. The test began. We were introduced to the overlock machine and learned to use it, first with just thread, then fabrics (large and small), and how to tell the right side from the wrong side of the fabric. Everything was going okay, but we knew we were being evaluated, and many of us were using the machine for the first time. The evaluators often seemed displeased with our work. Finally, they asked us to turn off the machines and follow Thaís (the employee in charge of us), who would guide us to collect our belongings. We were given a RioCard with R$20.00 and then shown the exit. No meal was served. After collecting our things, we asked to use the restroom, but Thaís refused, saying she had a schedule and we couldn't use the bathroom. We left without answers, needing the restroom badly, and everyone lived far from Penha. They could have shown more consideration for all candidates, even those not suitable for the role. They claim no experience is required, but the evaluators are perfectionists, and candidates with sewing knowledge and experience are the ones chosen to continue in the process.
