You'll meet with 2 staff members who will grill you with quite a few questions. They'll initially ask about your experience and if you require working in a positive atmosphere. The reason they ask that is that the real workplace is temperamental; most people get upset 'cause they get hung up on constantly and thus they are struggling to make proper quotas to make their managers happy. Be sure to look them in the eye and not wear tennis shoes.

I applied online and heard back fast. Had a phone interview with HR, then went in for an in-person interview with a manager. Got a quick offer over the phone after that. The in-person part was pretty easy, mostly just talking about work stuff. Some people there were former coworkers, and I got in through an employee referral. I already knew I wanted the job and what it was about. For the government contract part though, you need a public trust security clearance. That was a nightmare, took 20 hours total to track down all the info and refs. You gotta prove everywhere you've worked and lived for the last 7 years, which was tough for me back then. Debt collection companies hire anyone, and Delta is no different. You need good credit, no criminal record, some work history or education, and decent people skills. If you want to work on the government contract, you also need some collections experience beforehand. My advice is to worry less about what to say in the interview and more about if you actually want to be a debt collector.

Got contacted super quick after applying, like 20-30 mins. Had a two-person interview, it was pretty chill. Then there was a drug test and a background check. Ran into a bunch of technical snags with compliance testing and regulations though.

The process was very straightforward and transparent. The interviewer was experienced in the industry and focused on metrics, FDCPA rules, and compliance. They explained the training plan, which was strategic, and the objectives were clear.
