Embedded Software Engineer
So first they look at your resume to see if you match the job. If you do, they'll call you for a first chat to see if you're qualified, can communicate, and seem like a good fit. Then, you'll have technical interviews where you might solve problems, code, talk about systems, or answer specific tech questions. After that, there's usually a manager chat about how you work with others, make decisions, and fit the company culture. Lastly, if they like you, they'll talk to you about the offer, the job, pay, and when you can start.

Business Analyst Intern
I had an on-site interview that lasted about an hour. When they invited me, I asked if we could conduct the interview in English since my Chinese isn't business-level yet, and they agreed. The manager mostly presented what the company and team do, rather than asking many questions. Even though I showed interest by asking questions, I felt I couldn't really showcase my skills or experience because he barely asked anything. It was just the standard 'introduce yourself, why this role, and what do you know about the company.' I traveled 1.5 hours just for that. The manager was very friendly though, so I sent a thank you email afterwards. I got ghosted in the end. I have a feeling they don't hire foreigners, which makes me wonder why they invited me in the first place.
- Can you tell me about yourself and why you are interested in this position?
Cost Accountant
We'll start with a video or in-person meeting with the Cost Accounting Manager to really dig into your technical skills and experience. Then, you'll have a final round with the CFO or a panel. This last part is all about seeing your strategic thinking, business sense, and how you'd fit into the company culture, basically checking if you can boost profits and work well with others. The whole idea is to thoroughly check your accounting skills and your ability to be a strategic business partner.
- Can you share your experience with budgeting and forecasting, including variance analysis and your ability to forecast?
- Do you have experience with Global SAP?
- Describe a process improvement you've implemented, including the detailed steps you took.
Product Manager
I was contacted by HR about a role that had been open for over a year. I was upfront about my expectations from the start, and they said it was fine. We continued with several online and in-person meetings, which felt good. But in the last stage, they just ghosted me with no explanation. I found out later that my expectations, which were okay initially, were now seen as too high. They didn't even bother to formally close the process or send a rejection. It was a really bad and unprofessional experience, a total waste of time for everyone involved.
- Can you discuss your past experiences?
