First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Delos Living.
Software Engineer
I interviewed with the manager and several team members. The conversation focused on my interests and skills, particularly how I would fit with the team. They were open to questions and clearly explained the team's challenges and goals. They also discussed the technology stack to assess how well I would align with their work.
- What types of projects do you find engaging?
- Could you describe a particularly challenging implementation you've worked on?
Research Associate
I submitted my resume on LinkedIn and they got back to me a week later for a phone screening. Then, I was invited to a panel interview with 6 people. They all took turns asking me technical questions about the job, and some behavioral ones too. I got to ask them questions about the company and how it's organized at the end. I got the sense that the technical team is unsure of what they want or where the company is heading. They really need to hire someone who's an expert in their specific needs to succeed, not a fresh graduate with minimal product development experience.
- What is your approach to conducting a product review?
Research Scientist
Applied online. First, a phone screen, which was pretty long, with about 4-5 people asking technical CS questions, behavioral questions, about my experience, and my research. Then, they got back in 4 days and invited me for a 4-hour on-site in Rochester, MN, which included a tour, a group interview with 5 people, and questions about my experience. A week later, I had a phone interview with the VP-HR for usual HR questions. After that, I interviewed with the President of Delos Labs. This interview was purely technical, focusing on problem-solving and my vision for future research. Finally, they made an offer 2-3 days after the last interview, and we negotiated compensation, which they accepted.
- What do you foresee as the future of the IoT industry in the short and long run?
Business Analyst
The interview process was simple and straightforward, consisting of two rounds with no particularly tough questions. While I didn't end up receiving an offer, everyone I spoke with seemed to really like their jobs. The entire process was remote, with no in-person components. I'd recommend it if you're interested in the industry.
- Can you tell me how you found out about Delos?
- What do you understand about the company's business?
