First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Delivery Hero.
Android Engineer
The screening process was pretty basic. Then there was a technical interview, which involved a live coding session. Following that, I had an interview with the hiring manager, and then a bar raiser interview that included technical questions and a small problem-solving task.
- The technical interview included a small project where you had to do the requirements and write tests.
- The bar raiser interview included questions about the ART.
- The bar raiser interview included questions about the APK building process.
Senior Android Developer
Recruiter reached out on LinkedIn for an Android role, bypassing the need for a resume. The first round was an HR chat for about 30 minutes. Then, a technical interview followed, covering Android lifecycle and components, and finishing with an algorithm question. I initially solved it with brute force quickly, then developed a better solution during the rest of the interview, which they both seemed to work. Next, a "team fit" interview with a very distracted interviewer who had a child screaming in the background, eventually revealing it was his daughter. He left multiple times to check on her, and she even came to the webcam and spit on it, which was pretty wild! The interview was cut short, and I got a rejection email via Workday four days later. So yeah, if they contact you on LinkedIn, maybe reconsider.

First, there was a 30 min HR phone screening. Then, a 1.5 hour technical interview where we did a simple code review, an algorithm question, and some simple rxjava questions. After that, I had a 48 hours homework with a 1.5 hours review covering general programming and android specific questions. Finally, a Bar raiser interview involving a simple algorithmic problem, general programming, and a talk about my current professional job.

- Can you explain RxJava Implementation?
