Software Engineer
First, there's a preliminary candidate selection, done by reviewing resumes, giving tests, or other screening methods. Selected candidates are then contacted to schedule an interview. On the interview day, there's an introduction where the interviewer introduces themselves and the company. Then, the questions for the candidate begin. These questions differ based on the role and can cover professional experience, technical skills, behavioral aspects, and specific area knowledge. Throughout the interview, the interviewer assesses the candidate's answers, observes their demeanor, verbal and non-verbal communication, and analyzes their ability to handle tough situations and work in a team.
- What are your strongest professional qualities, and how do you handle workplace challenges?
- Can you describe a time you collaborated with a team to achieve a goal?
- How do you stay current in your field?
Commercial Planning Analyst
It was a 4-stage process: an HR interview, an intermediate Excel test, an interview with the area manager, and a case study presentation. Even so, the whole process was quick, taking about a week and a half. The interviews were super relaxed, the people made me feel very comfortable, they are very friendly, explain everything in detail, answer questions, are welcoming, in short, they were by far the best interviews I've ever had. The important thing is to know who you are professionally and personally and to really align with the company's values. The tests (Excel and case study) were a bit complex and long, but they gave a good idea of what I would be doing in my day-to-day work.
- Could you tell me about your biggest professional and personal challenge, and your greatest professional and personal achievement?
- Describe yourself in your personal life.
- What are your dreams and aspirations?
Data Engineer
I applied in Dec 2020 and heard back from the Head of Data in Jan 2021. He messaged me on LinkedIn to schedule a chat for that same afternoon. The interview was straightforward, focusing more on behavioral aspects than technical ones. At the end of the chat with the manager, he asked personal questions like 'Are you married?' and 'Do you have kids?' while taking notes. He then mentioned that the HR contact would reach out to discuss the role and benefits, and that I seemed like the profile he was looking for. When the HR person called, I clarified questions about benefits and he asked about my start date. I mentioned I was finishing maternity leave and could start in Feb 2021 since I'd canceled my vacation at my current job. The HR guy said he'd check with the manager about the start date feasibility and get back to me. I tried to follow up via LinkedIn but got no response. I'm still waiting for an update! I saw on LinkedIn that someone else started in the position I applied for in Feb 2021.
- Why would you consider joining DC?
- Are you married?
- Do you have children?
