Deliveroo's interviews are very structured and always with the candidate in mind to give them a positive experience. They are divided into several phases, depending on the position and seniority, so that the candidate is evaluated by different members of Deliveroo (it can be people from their team, someone from a cross-functional team, or a director from another area. Each interviewer focuses their interview on a specific area of the candidate's profile (experience, impact, alignment with company values, etc.).

So I had this initial screening call, right? They started by telling me all about the role and the company. Then they asked me about my current job, how I do my sourcing, and how I manage stakeholders. It seemed to go well, and the recruiter said she'd check with the panel about availability and get back to me with times. But then, like, 30 minutes later, I got an email saying they weren't moving forward because I don't have UK market experience. Which is weird because the job description didn't mention that, and the recruiter didn't bring it up at all. Honestly, they should just give real feedback instead of making up excuses.

I had an initial phone interview with the head of department. Then, I went for an onsite interview which included 4 interviews. The first few were with Senior/Lead Recruiters and one was with a Hiring Manager. After that, I met with some team members who addressed all my questions. The people I met were all genuine, enthusiastic, and friendly. Overall, it was a really nice and helpful experience that helped me choose the best role for me.
