Product Operations Manager
It was very nice. Everyone was kind and it felt like a conversation. There were 4 rounds and overall it was a pleasant experience throughout. Most questions were based on the values of the company.
- Behavioral questions and value based
City Manager
It starts with an initial chat with HR, where good English skills (B2 level) would be a plus given the international background of many candidates. This is followed by a meeting with the Area Manager, which might involve a business case exercise. Finally, there's a chat with the Italian HR team for the commercial proposal. Sometimes candidates might not hear back, but this likely depends on the individual. The compensation offered in Italy doesn't quite align with the role's requirements. Remote working is a possibility, but no company car or meal vouchers are provided, just a Deliveroo credit. So, you need to consider if taking on coordination, supervision, and budget management responsibilities is worth the salary, which isn't very adequate for the role. I can't share more due to the limited number of candidates interviewed, but if you have a mid-level background in any sector other than retail/commerce, it's unlikely you'd earn more elsewhere. Since many candidates contacted have a commercial background, the benefits offered likely don't compensate for the salary at the end of the month. As mentioned, you'd have to cover the cost of a car (lease or purchase) yourself, even though 2-3 days a week are expected in the field. They don't provide a company car, which makes the offer seem ambiguous. Otherwise, HR and staff are very knowledgeable and professional. They might need to align the offer with the job type, as many other collective agreements for similar roles offer a car, meal vouchers, and other benefits that a managerial position like this at Deliveroo doesn't.
- What is your motivation for wanting to work at Deliveroo?
- Can you explain the differences between the various internal business functions at Deliveroo (commercial ones)?
- What does your job entail?
Service Delivery Manager
There were 2 interview stages. First was a generic chat about my experience, and the second was a behavioral interview. It felt like there wasn't a clear structure or process guiding the interviews. The interviewer seemed distracted, messaging others during our conversation. Also, the two interviewers gave conflicting descriptions of the same department. The line manager was upfront, but the second interviewer expected textbook answers instead of real-life examples, ignoring the human element, and had no hands-on experience.
- Could you start by telling me about yourself?
- In what ways do you believe your past experience aligns with the requirements of this position?
- Can you describe your proficiency in documentation and collaborative work?
