Business Analyst
The recruiter reached out because they found my resume online to officially submit my application. They also had me do a personality assessment. Then, they contacted my references right away. However, they never set up an actual interview. There was some difficulty scheduling with their PM or team lead. I asked for an update on when to expect things, and then they stopped communicating. It was annoying that my references were contacted for nothing, especially since I never had a formal interview with the hiring team. It felt like a lot of recruiting upfront for nothing.

Program Design
The interview process was terrible, painfully slow, and dragging on for months with little to no communication. It became very clear that I was never seriously considered as a candidate, yet they continued to string me along without providing meaningful updates or feedback. The interview questions were robotic and outdated. Rather than engaging in a thoughtful conversation or assessing my actual qualifications, they stuck to cliché questions like "Tell me about a time you failed" or "What are your weaknesses?" - the kind of superficial prompts you'd expect from a high school mock interview, not a professional hiring process. There was no attempt to evaluate relevant experience, technical skills, or domain knowledge. Overall, the process felt like a complete waste of time. It was slow, disorganized, impersonal, and frankly insulting to someone who was clearly overqualified for the position. I’ve interviewed with many companies, and this was hands-down the worst experience I’ve had. I would not recommend engaging with this company if you value your time or professional integrity.
- Can you describe a situation where you experienced failure?
- What do you consider to be your weaknesses?
Contract Specialist
A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn about an interesting contract specialist role. I submitted my resume and references, followed by a personality test and a technical assessment. I had an online interview with the hiring director and her subordinate, which confirmed my interest. They then invited me for a half-day job shadow in OKC, where I met several team members and the CEO, and got a feel for the work. Afterward, the hiring director arranged a lunch meeting with the COO and Director of Recruiting, which felt like a third interview. Although I wasn't selected, I appreciated the opportunity and highly recommend the company.

Network Systems Administrator
So I had an interview with Mixed Professionalism Company. The recruiter was really on top of things after the first screening, which was nice. They told me to be upfront about what I know and don't know, but also to show I'm willing to learn. They gave some general hints about what the interview might cover, but it wasn't super helpful. The first interview got messed up because the interviewer apparently didn't get the invite, which they said was due to issues with that person. The recruiter rescheduled, and the actual interview went pretty well, call quality was good. It was a mix of regular and technical questions. Then, the recruiter called me back soon after to chat about it. A couple days later, the recruiter said I might be a better fit for a different role and set up a second interview with someone else. That second interview was rough, the interviewer was on his phone, and the audio was bad, which I mentioned. It was mostly technical stuff I wasn't familiar with, even though they knew that from my resume. The interviewer also seemed to struggle, lots of 'uh' and 'um' and pauses, felt unprepared and unprofessional. After that, I tried reaching out to the recruiter for two days with no response. It's been over a week now and still nothing, they just ghosted me. Tried again a week later, still no reply. Basically, if they're not interested, they just ignore you. So, if your interviews don't go perfectly, expect to be ghosted.
