it was a simple interview, the basic questions like past experience and why you want to be a lash artist. was less than 15 mins for the interview. Then was followed up with a zoom interview which was pretty simple as well.

It was a pretty simple interview, and they were upfront about what they were looking for. They really want to see if you'd be a good fit for their studio's vibe and if you have the lashing experience needed for their fancy clients. They also want to know if you're keen to develop your skills and be a good team member.

They ask a lot of questions to make sure you're really passionate and dedicated to this line of work. You'll need to commit to working there for at least a year. They promise you'll make between $15 - $28 an hour within the first three months, including commission and tips. However, the commission structure is tricky: making more than 3% is nearly impossible. To even hit 10% commission, you'd have to have a client every single hour you're scheduled (assuming a 40-hour week) and each client would have to buy absolutely everything on the shelf every time they come in. For example, a client who comes in for a one-hour fill every two weeks would have to purchase all available products during each visit just for you to reach 10% commission, and you'd need to maintain this level of sales consistently.

The interview process was very thorough. It started with an initial phone screen, then a phone interview with the CEO. After that, I was invited to the corporate offices to meet with the company founders, CEO, and Director of Operations. We had a deep dive into my previous experience, knowledge of the position, and past performances. There was one more follow-up interview with the COO, asking similar questions about my experience, education, and performance.
