Started with a quick chat with HR, like a rapid-fire round with about 5-6 product questions. Then, had a more chill, genuine talk that felt good, and they said they'd set up a meeting with the hiring manager. The hiring manager and I had a spontaneous chat, covering similar product questions and also stuff about leading dev teams. Waited weeks with no news, then got a standard rejection.

I spoke with a recruiter, then the hiring manager, and finally the product directors. It all happened pretty fast. The recruiter and HM chats went great, but the product directors seemed uninterested, which was kind of weird. I got turned down by the recruiter shortly after. The recruiter was super communicative, and I still think their product is awesome and has huge potential, but I just didn't vibe with the product directors, and that's probably why I didn't get the job!

I had a call with a recruiter and it seemed to go okay. They told me I should get an email with next steps by the end of the week. It was Tuesday then. I waited until Friday and didn't hear anything. So on Monday I emailed them asking for an update. They finally emailed me back on Friday, a whole week later, to say they'd put the job on hold. It would have been better if they'd told me sooner and been more upfront about what was going on instead of making me wait two weeks for any info. Bad organization.
