Relationship Marketing Strategist
I spoke with HR first, then the hiring manager, and after that, a group of my potential future colleagues. The last interview involved a presentation. The whole process took about 6 hours. I didn't get an offer because some other candidates had more experience in a specific area. I don't think that automatically makes them better, though. I felt I could really do well in this job. After finding out, I wished I'd had more chances to talk about my actual experience in that area. It wasn't a big deal in the end and could be picked up easily. Everyone on the panel was really nice and asked lots of questions. But honestly, I'm less likely to do interviews in the future where several future coworkers are involved in the decision-making. It seems unlikely everyone will agree, and not everyone is great at interviewing and hiring. The HR person was helpful and kind. Overall, it was a good experience.

Client Finance Analyst
I found the Client Finance Analyst job online and applied. Out of nowhere, the recruiter called me. I was unprepared because I didn't expect the call. The recruiter's description of the job was surprising because it sounded much more customer-focused than the online posting suggested. Despite the poor connection making it hard to understand her, I tried my best to answer her questions. She mentioned she'd suggest a second interview with the finance manager and director, which would be audio-only over Zoom. I joined the Zoom call early, as I usually do. The interviewers were a bit late, and it turned out to be a video call, not just audio. One person dominated the questioning, while the other seemed completely uninterested, making me feel like it was just a formality. The main interviewer kept muting himself to talk to someone else while I was speaking. Towards the end, the quiet interviewer asked me a single question. After I answered, he just said 'ok' with a fake smile. They said they had more candidates to see and would be in touch. A few days later, I got an email saying they were moving on with other people, which didn't come as a shock.

Strategist
Got a surprise call from the recruiter, no heads-up, and I just winged it trying to answer her questions. Then, a week later, I had a second interview with the hiring manager. It was a good chat and the questions weren't too tough, but I did have time to prep. The next week, I interviewed with some team members, and they asked a lot of the same questions. I asked the recruiter for everyone's email so I could send thank you notes, but I never heard back. It looks like they filled the position, but I never got any official word either way. I would have thought a smaller company like this would communicate better, before and after interviews, which was a bit disappointing. Other than that, it seems like a good place to work.
- Can you give an example of how you've assisted a client in expanding their subscriber base or increasing their database?
Engineer
The interview process was informal. I was never contacted again after the initial interaction. It would have been better to at least receive a rejection. A friend mentioned that this might happen if they didn't find the person they were looking for, possibly to keep me as a backup. It felt like they wanted to keep their options open. It's time to be upfront, DEG.
