First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Defy Media.
Brand Marketing Manager
The interview process was pretty standard. First, I had a phone call with the recruiter. After that, I went in for an in-person interview with the CMO and the Director of Marketing.
- How would you go about working on the brands?
Publisher Sales Manager
I applied online and heard back within 2 weeks from an in-house recruiter to set up a phone interview with my supervisor. After that went well, I had 3 in-person interviews back-to-back with my supervisor and 2 team members. The final round was a phone call with the VP in NYC. The whole process was quick and straightforward. The recruiter was great about keeping me in the loop the whole time and made me feel welcome.
- What motivates you to work in publisher development?
- Describe your process for identifying and acquiring new prospects.
- Can you share an instance where a client expressed dissatisfaction and how you addressed it?
Software Engineer
I thought the interview process was great and really straightforward. The recruiter gave me all the info I needed, so I felt totally ready. He was super friendly and helpful the whole time. I felt fine asking more questions to both the recruiter and the hiring manager. When I went for my in-person interview, the vibe was pretty chill and relaxed. After the interview, they told me when I could expect to hear back about the job. The recruiter also said he'd let me know if he got any news sooner. It was nice because some companies don't give you that much detail or reassurance.
- Can you describe your prior experience in software development?
Network Manager
The whole thing took about two weeks. First, there was a phone call, then I went in person for an interview. After that, I had to get some written referrals from people I'd worked with, and finally, they did a background check to make sure my education was legit. I saw the job on LinkedIn and just threw my resume in, not expecting anything.
- Can you outline your career goals for the next five years?
