Since it's a medium-sized company, I went straight to talking with the boss and some lead software developers. We did a whiteboard session where I had to solve a simple problem and then a simple system design. The code didn't need to be perfect, but it had to make sense.

The interview process was quick, thorough, and direct. I spoke with two senior employees who knew their stuff about the role and the market. They were professional.

I applied for the business analyst job on monster.com. A recruiter reached out to discuss my background, why I'm looking for a job, and to give me info about the role and company. Then, a few weeks later, I had a conference call with the recruiter, a business analyst, and the manager. They asked open-ended questions and gave me situational use cases to work through. The staff was nice and professional. I would have liked to continue if I had the chance.

Had this weird phone interview where the interviewer talked way more than me, like half the time was spent on the role itself. When they did ask questions, it felt like they were looking for reasons I wasn't a fit, instead of understanding how my skills matched what they needed. It was tough to correct them when they seemed to misunderstand something I said. So, it was hard to make sure they had all the info to really decide. They said they wanted to meet in person, which sounded good, but they never actually set it up even though I followed up professionally a few times.
