First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Deezer.
Software Engineer
The HR was kinda slow with getting back and scheduling stuff. I went through a HR chat and then a technical assessment which included a test. A final chat with some tech folks got cancelled last minute because they hired someone else. They really need to be quicker with scheduling and keeping people updated.
- Why are you interested in this role?
- Can you explain your understanding of software engineering concepts?
- Tell me about yourself and why you'd be a good fit for our team.
Software Developer
RH prescreening then manager interview, followed by a take-home coding and system design project. This project was then presented to two team members, involving a Q&A session. There was no feedback from the HR person. The HR person rescheduled the initial call multiple times, sometimes without any warning. The take-home project was excessively long. There was an 'optional' part, but not doing it put candidates at a disadvantage since others might dedicate more time to it. The take-home was presented to two developers from the team. They asked questions, and from their perspective, the interview was of good quality. Great vibe. No recruiter feedback afterwards despite follow-ups.
- Why Deezer? What are your past challenges?
Software Engineer
After I sent in my CV, they sent me a more detailed description of the internship. I had a week to do a coding project and send it in via GitHub if I was still interested. After that, the people who did well got invited onsite for a fit interview and a quick whiteboard coding question.
