& Process

The process is pretty straightforward. They call you on the phone and ask general questions and about your willingness to do an interview. They schedule the interview, which I did online. The process of giving an answer took a little while.

It was a really bad interview. The manager made some unprofessional comments about my appearance and personal finances. He mentioned that my friend, who referred me, is beautiful and that they were joking about checking her address after drinking, which was on her CV. He also commented on people coming from the beauty sector and asked for my address. He then said it's tougher for women in this male-dominated Italian company. It was a very disappointing and unprofessional experience.

The selection process was structured into three steps: first, a phone selection to discuss the CV. Second, an online interview with the manager. Finally, a business case was discussed on-site with four people. The whole process took about two months from the initial call to the final decision. They were quite unprofessional: they asked for my current salary from the very first phone call. After I spent a week and took a vacation day to prepare the business case, which was very well received during the presentation, they simply wrote to me saying they hired someone with less experience and fewer skills, without any further explanation. It seems like in this company, budget matters more than skills and people.

My interview process had three parts: First was an online chat with HR to get to know each other, talk about my background, and the company culture. Second, another online meeting with HR and the person who heads this role to discuss my technical skills, potential challenges, and if I'm a good fit. The third meeting was in person with HR, the Head of the role, and the CEO, focusing on strategy, leadership, and company culture. On the day of the interview, I got a case study to work on and present.
