& Process

My interview experience with Daybreak was smooth and they had a really well-organized process that was easy to get through. The HR people were super helpful and kept me updated clearly and quickly at each step. The whole thing moved really fast and efficiently, and they were upfront about what to expect from the start. I really liked how open and professional they were the whole time. It was a great experience overall.

The interview was led by a team lead and included questions about Python, some live coding/logic challenges, and discussions about my past projects. The logic part involved things like pattern questions and DSA, and the project questions covered my role, how it was done, the tech stack, and the outcome.

I was called into their office to build an ML problem without any input on the type of data that we are dealing with and the interviewer despite being asked multiple questions on the data the only answer was “assume”. It felt like a time pass because an interview training would have been better structured. No introduction, no inputs just assume.

I applied online and the whole thing took over a week, with 4 rounds total. First was a phone call about my background and interests. Then, a technical interview with the Director of Data Science. It started with me introducing myself, and then they described the role and team. They asked about Python packages I've used and some coding/basic ML questions. Round 3 was another technical interview, this time with a Senior Data Scientist. We did introductions and talked about my projects. They asked ML/DS questions, including the math behind ML algorithms, and about my experience with real-world data and how I'd approach use cases. The last round was a cultural fit chat with the HR head, a casual call to talk about the company's vision and values and see if they matched mine.
