First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Day Zero Diagnostics.
Bioinformatician
I had a call with the Hiring Manager and another one with HR. Then, I had day-long interviews at their offices with different team members, and there was a coding interview involved.
- Can you discuss your past experiences?
- Let's work through some riddles.
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
Sequencing Technologist
Had an initial screening call with the director of sequencing, which was 15 minutes. Then, there was an on-site interview with 1-2 people that lasted 30 minutes. After that, there were 4-5 meetings in one afternoon, totaling 4 hours. I also had a Zoom call with the CSO that was 20 minutes. Finally, there was a follow-up and offer call that lasted 15 minutes. The team seemed great, very friendly and young, but the salary wasn't competitive. They didn't bring up salary until the final call, and I was disappointed after weeks of interviews because the salary wasn't competitive with other biotech companies for a senior role with a Master's degree, and DZD was unwilling to negotiate.
- Can you tell me about your work experience and education?
Laboratory Research Associate
First, I had a phone interview. Then about a week after that, I had a video meeting with one of the scientists. The first call was general interview questions and the second one was more focused on the science part.
- Describe a past mentor or supervisor you really enjoyed working with and explain the reasons for your positive experience.
