Assistant Manager
It was an easy interview process. I got automated emails asking me to call the store to set up an interview time. I spoke with a manager. I was surprised she didn't have my resume, so always bring extra copies! She asked standard sales questions and gave examples of tough customer service situations they've had. I felt comfortable talking with her. She said her DSM would interview me and she'd be in touch. I got another email for a second interview. I went back, assuming I'd meet the DSM, but I'm not sure who I interviewed with since she didn't state her title. This interview was quick and not very in-depth for a second interview. At the end, she mentioned they were reviewing candidates and the DSM would call about further interviews. I left feeling confused. About a week later, I got an email saying they chose other candidates.
- How do you feel about the diverse range of customers who shop here?
- Can you treat every customer equally, regardless of the circumstances?
- Tell me about your experience with customers ranging from Mormon Brides to Drag Queens.
Manager
Applying was easy via the David's Bridal career portal. The interviews were thorough and took about 2 months, which seems standard for big companies and can change based on the role. Everyone I met was professional and seemed genuinely interested in me and my skills, which was great. They asked about my work style, leadership abilities, and strengths. The Talent Acquisition team was amazing and kept me updated and followed up well. The whole process was smooth, and I'd suggest applying if you see a role you like.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Can you share details about your current role and any projects you've worked on?
- What are your expectations for your next position?
Assistant Manager
After submitting my online application, I was contacted by the DSM. The first interview was one-on-one with the DSM, and it went really well. He was professional and thorough, and kept me updated via email and text. The next step was a phone interview with a recruiter, which I thought was a bit strange for a second step. She was funny and asked good questions. Then, I had a phone interview with the regional manager. This interview was more direct and focused on assessing my fit for the role, and it was shorter than the others. The regional manager also asked me to speak with a current Store Manager (SM) over the phone, so I could get a feel for the position and see if it was a good match. Honestly, the whole process felt surprisingly long for an Assistant Manager role, with 4 different interview types. Despite the length, everyone was great and pleasant, and it all wrapped up in under a week. I ended up taking a different job due to location, but it was a good experience.
