Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at David's Bridal.
Customer Service Specialist
The interview was group-based, around 10-15 people and two managers. We all answered the same questions as the group and then individuals were asked more pinpointed questions. We were asked which areas we were the most interested in working and then broke off into smaller groups based off department of interest. I met with the Alterations manager at this point. The offer was made on the spot and paperwork was filed and completed that day. Overall a good experience and a fast process.

The interview was weird. I was only looking for part-time work. They had me come in for a group interview, but I was the only one there. It didn't seem to go well because the manager immediately said she needed weekend availability, which I couldn't do. She then told me to come back for a second interview two days later, which I scheduled since I wasn't available sooner. The person who was supposed to interview me didn't know about it, and the manager I met earlier was leaving as I arrived. I waited about 10 minutes both times. The second interview had no questions at all; there was just a quick introduction to someone else as 'my new CSR,' followed by 'great so you can start Monday at Noon, it was great to meet you, see you Monday at Noon.' No questions, no real job offer, no salary talk, nothing.
- How would you deal with a challenging bride?

I put in my application and then did an online personality test. About a week later, I got an email about a meet and greet at the store. It was just me and another candidate. I was pretty nervous to start, but the manager made us feel at ease. They asked direct questions for about 30-40 minutes, chatted with us a bit, and answered our questions. Then they said they'd let us know within a week or two. I'm really hoping to get the job!
- What would make you a great hire?
- Tell me about the worst manager you've worked with.
- Would you say you're a competitive person?
