An external recruiter reached out to me about a possible job. After we talked on the phone, she sent my portfolio to D&G. About a week later, D&G set up interviews with their Director of Talent and CCO. A few days after that, I met with an ECD and my potential AD partner. Then, two days later, I got my offer letter. It was a really smooth and nice process. Overall, it was a great experience.

Account Coordinator
It was a pretty standard interview process. Started with a phone screening, and after that, they wanted me to come in for an in-person interview. I got an email to confirm the in-person interview details in their LA office, and I confirmed my availability. Then I arranged my travel and stay because I was coming from Oregon. When I got to the office, they told me they hadn't actually scheduled me and that I should have gotten an email to reschedule. Even though I didn't get any email, they managed to find some people from the team to meet with me that day. The whole thing was super unorganized, and I didn't hear anything back until I contacted the Talent team myself.

Account Supervisor
This interview process took longer than it needed to. The recruiter was disorganized and kept mixing up the job I applied for. It seemed like appearance mattered more than skills when I first saw the employees. The environment felt cliquey. The actual interviews were the typical one-on-ones with important team members. I think I asked more questions than they were used to and they seemed annoyed when I asked about how account management and creative teams interact. It felt like the creative side wasn't really challenged. I didn't hear back for a month, and even then, the rejection email still mentioned the wrong position! I guess I dodged a bullet.
- What unique contributions can you make to D&G?
Management Supervisor
The interview process was pretty straightforward but it took a long time. I started with a phone interview and then had to meet with several people. I ended up meeting with everyone, including the company president, all in one day! It was an all-day interview. My main issue with D&G is how they handled things after the interview. They called to offer me the job, but the vacation days offered were less than I currently get. I was trying to negotiate for a similar package because I use vacation days to visit my sick father who lives out of state, and they almost rescinded the offer. HR then told me that the team for that account doesn't take vacations and that this was a major problem, requiring a call with my potential boss. HR also mentioned that they recently couldn't extend an offer to someone with a similar family health situation. The next day, I spoke with my potential boss and the director, and they described the kind of employee they want, admitting they often work until 6 am and then drive two hours to the client's office to present their work. The director also pointed out that she noticed I exercise regularly from our casual conversation and couldn't guarantee I'd have time for that. Talk about work-life balance! They ended the call by saying they'd think about it overnight and I should too, and they'd let me know their final decision. After that, the only communication I received was an automated email from a junior HR person saying they reviewed my resume but I wasn't a good fit right now. What a joke. I'm so glad I dodged that bullet. Definitely a blessing in disguise.
