Had an HR interview, pretty easy. Then a technical interview with the hiring manager. Honestly, they were one of the worst interviewers I've encountered. They were reading situational questions from a list and couldn't steer the conversation at all. They hadn't even looked at my resume beforehand and didn't recognize basic models I brought up.

The interview process included a recruiter phone screen, a video call with the hiring manager, and then a panel interview which was 5 separate calls assessing leadership, culture fit, technical skills, behavioral aspects of team interactions, and executive management. It took over 3 weeks. I reached the final round but didn't get the offer. The recruiter mentioned I did well in all areas except for a slight concern about culture fit. Honestly, I don't think they knew what they were looking for given my background and experience. Dodged a bullet, though. The whole process felt like a waste of time, overly complicated, and the panelists weren't engaging, especially an Engineering Manager who was rude and rushed. Didn't get the offer due to a minor factor that doesn't impact job success.

I applied for this role and got an interview. The recruiter who interviewed me was rude, condescending, late, and interrupted me. He rushed me during the interview, which lacked structure; sometimes he rushed, other times he didn't. While I've met different interviewer personalities before, none were as disrespectful as him. I don't know if he was having a bad day or if he enjoys talking down to people. I really hope he doesn't treat all candidates like that, because no one would want to work there if he does. Ultimately, he represents Dave, and he made a bad impression. I hope the company hires better recruiters who are respectful and can positively represent the company.

Behavioral Technical Coding

The interview process was smooth, quick, and great overall. I mentioned I had competing offers and they were very accommodating to my timeline. The first round was a recruiter phone screen. She was incredibly kind and personable. I asked her for a high-level overview of the upcoming interviews and she gave great insight on what to expect and prepare for. The second round was a 1-hour live coding technical round that was language agnostic. Because of my timeline, I got a response the day of that I was moving forward. The recruiter also provided feedback which I appreciated. The last round was on-site. I signed an NDA. It included two 1-hour technical rounds and 1 behavioral round. A great experience overall. I also got a response the day of. All the interviewers were helpful in guiding me when I was stuck and made me feel comfortable, making it easy to recover from mistakes because they seemed very understanding and patient.
