First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Datto.
Talent Acquisition Partner
We started with a video call with a Talent Partner, then an aptitude test. After that, I had a phone interview with the department head in the US. Then there was a face-to-face meeting at their office with two key people. I had to retake the aptitude assessment. Finally, they made an offer.
- Tell me about your focus on innovation.
- Describe your experience in business partnering.
- How have you handled global relationship building?

First, I had to complete an online personality assessment and a timed SAT-like test before speaking with anyone. This SAT part was tough for me, given my IEP history, and felt a bit exclusionary, making me wonder about Datto's commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunity. Apparently, there's another proctored SAT test if you make it to the onsite. After what I assume was passing the test, I had calls with a recruiter and the Director of Recruiting. These calls felt more like a continuation of the personality assessment rather than a genuine evaluation of my recruiting skills. I got an automated rejection email about a week later, after I had to send a follow-up.
- What motivates you to want to work at Datto?
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
Recruiter
The interview process was pretty standard. It included three interviews. First, I talked with the hiring manager. Then, I had a chat with a team member. Finally, I met with a leader from a team I would be supporting. The last part of the process was an assessment that lasted around 40 minutes.
- Can you tell me about the most challenging recruitment role you've handled?
