First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Datassential.
Product Owner
A recruiter contacted me about a role. The initial HR screen involved standard questions about my background. I was then asked to complete an assessment, which required a two-page write-up on my experience within a product team, ideally detailing an AI project I had worked on. I didn't invest much effort into this as I suspected the job wasn't genuine at that point. I heard nothing further until they contacted me stating they wished to proceed with interviews but needed to wait for approvals. A week later, I was informed the job was not approved. My impression is that the company was attempting to gather ideas and information on how other companies utilize AI.
- What are your 5-year career aspirations?
Data Integration Services Manager
The interview process was straightforward, but the assessment test was a joke, actually insulting. I had an interview with two people, one of whom seemed disinterested and we didn't click. At the end, salary expectations came up. Even though the HR call confirmed my expectation was in the middle of the posted range, the interviewer said they were looking for someone entry-level and asked if I would be flexible. I wasn't.
- How do you prioritize workloads?
Analyst
I had 2 interviews and 2 assessments. The first one was pretty basic, mostly about getting to know me and seeing if my skills were a good fit. The second interview was a bit rough, with one interviewer seeming uninterested and hardly asking anything.
- Can you share an instance where team members had different interpretations of data? How did you reconcile those differences to align recommendations?
Market Research Manager
I had a phone interview with HR for the Senior Market Research Manager role. The HR person gave me a general rundown of the company and the job. The job was for a senior manager on the custom team. Datassential has one of the biggest foodservice menu databases. It sounded like most clients were food and beverage makers but they also worked with foodservice providers.
- Can you describe your experience managing a project from start to finish?
- How proficient are you with Excel?
- What is your expected salary range?
