Learning & Development Specialist
I was found on LinkedIn for a job and it took a long time for them to send me the job description. After that, a lot of things happened that made me doubt if they would value my work if I got the job. First, my contact sent me the wrong job description and didn't apologize when I was confused about why I was being considered. They just expected me to know they messed up. Second, we scheduled a recruiter call, but nobody called. When I followed up, it turned out they had put the wrong time in their calendar. Third, the next interview was supposed to be with a C-suite executive. Because of their travel, they asked if I could do a video call on a weekend, which I agreed to. I didn't get any acknowledgement that I was doing them a favor by giving up my weekend time. Fourth, the interviewer didn't show up for our scheduled Sunday call. I waited 15 minutes and when I asked if we should reschedule, my contact didn't respond in the email chain but messaged me separately. I was told they were trying to reach the interviewer and reschedule for later that day. They didn't ask if my weekend still allowed for it, didn't acknowledge that waiting is hard, and didn't apologize for the experience. They just implied the interviewer got held up with work trips and that I should be understanding. There was no empathy, respect, or acknowledgement of my experience, and no apologies or accountability for their mistakes. If this is how I'm treated as someone they reached out to, I can only imagine how I'd be treated as an employee. The job description was great and a good career move, but no job is worth being disrespected like this before even starting.

Financial Crimes Analyst
The interview process was pretty good. I had a 3-on-1 interview in the office, which was nice. The next day, they said the COO wanted to interview me, and we set it up. That interview was short, just 15 minutes over the phone. They were really impressed and extended an offer two days later, which I took. I tried to get a higher salary but couldn't, though the offer was decent and I was excited about the company, culture, benefits, and the job itself, so I accepted. My background check and drug screening went smoothly. Then, two weeks before I was supposed to start, after I'd already quit my old job and finished my exit survey, I got an email saying, “I’m sorry to inform you that management has decided to remove the financial crimes analyst position. Wish you all the best.” They didn't even call. They just took back the offer after a month of interviews and screenings. It was a total waste of my time and effort.
