The interview started with a recruiter call which was good. They seemed really welcoming and like a great company, so I agreed to move on. Next, I had a call with a manager who was pretty new to his role. It felt off from the start; he seemed uninterested and kept cutting me off. He was dismissive about my accomplishments and kept asking the same questions over if he wasn’t happy with my answers. He then bragged about the company, mentioning a recent trip to Spain. He warned me the next steps would be long and asked if I was up for it (I had already researched this on Glassdoor). The next day, I got a standard rejection email, which I expected. I felt like I dodged a bullet because the hiring manager seemed to have a massive ego. It seems like HR needs to know about this toxic manager and be more open to how other companies operate and their KPIs, and not talk down to successful women. Overall, the whole interview process felt super long and tedious.

The interview process went pretty well up to the last stage which was a role play interview. During the role play, one of the managers joined about half way through, and was supposed to be part of the role play. It's possible this was deliberate to see how I'd react. He then criticized me for not asking certain questions that I had actually already asked before he joined. Everyone else involved in the interviews was nice, so I'm glad I didn't end up with that specific manager.
