Sales Development Representative
This was a pretty standard sales development representative interview. It moved really fast (around two to three weeks to get an offer if I remember right), and there was a really smart, awesome team working there. The final interview had a very good role play that gets you excited, especially if you're into the AI space or data warehousing. If you’re worried about how technical it is to sell this product, you can use Perplexity.AI and ChatGPT to help you with elevator pitches, it makes things much easier. Really great team.

Sales Development Representative
Interview process: 1. Recruiter screening 2. Hiring manager round (includes one mock cold call). Interviewer was rude, kept looking down at something the entire time and was not actively listening. I eventually was rejected and I’m glad I did because I would’ve declined the offer anyway. I had high expectations about Databricks being a revolutionary company but if this is the kind of people that the company has, then I’d stay away from it.

Sales Development Representative
Had an initial screening call with a recruiter. He showed up late to the call and I had to follow up with him to remind him we had an interview scheduled. Halfway through the call he mentioned he was in the middle of an "important meeting" and trying to listen to both conversations at the same time. Definitely felt like a slap in the face and that my time wasn't being respected. Why schedule an interview if you weren't actually available at that time? Also not sure how he could properly assess my fit for the role if he wasn't even really paying attention to what I was saying during the conversation. Overall I was disappointed with this interview experience, especially at such a big company like Databricks that takes a lot of pride in their company culture.
- Why do you think you’re a strong fit for this position?
