Databank's hiring process was pretty quick. It took about a month from applying to getting the offer. I got an email 18 days after I applied. First, there was a recruiter screening where we talked about the job, pay, and shifts. It seemed like a good match, so they scheduled my first phone interview with the site manager for the next day. That call was a quick run-through of my resume and more details about the site and what they expected. After that, they invited me for an on-site interview. Something came up personally, but the manager was cool and let me reschedule the in-person meeting. The on-site interview was about 1.5 hours long, with the site manager and the lead DCT. We quickly went over my resume, they asked some technical questions, and gave me a tour of the place. It was really laid-back, and they let me talk a lot about my past jobs. They offered me the job right at the end of the interview. A week later, an area manager called to sort out the final details.

I applied online and a recruiter reached out for a screen. Soon after, I had an initial interview with the hiring manager who rescheduled because they no-showed originally. This was followed by a five-week, unorganized process where the recruiter disappeared and the hiring manager seemed unprepared, admitting they didn't know how to run the hiring process. I had a 'technical interview' with two developers, one of whom I found out was nearshore and was actually hired for the role I was applying for, but then they realized a contractor couldn't be in a managerial position. I got to a supposed final interview with the CTO who was late and had to take the call from his car on his way to a company party. I decided this was too much, and despite the market, I wouldn't tolerate this. I called the recruiter, who said she had given the process to the hiring manager and agreed the process was too long and poorly handled, not following company policy. She then told me I was rejected, apologized for the experience, and wished me Merry Christmas. This role was remote software engineering for the corporate office, not a datacenter job like most reviews. The recruiter seemed genuinely surprised by how bad it was but it felt like this happens often - avoid this company.

Interview in 4 stages, 1 with recruiter, another with technical lead, another with a technical lead plus a senior dev, and the final interview with the CTO, but in the end, even after several contact attempts, there was no feedback on the result. After so many steps, it's the least that could be expected.

STAY AWAY: Toxic company culture with directionless leadership. The company's mentality is to spend money first and figure out how to pay the bills later (high priced acquisitions). Would not apply if older in age or unwilling to accept sink or swim in first 3-6 months. The process included phone screens and a final round of onsite interviews.
