Got contacted by an external recruiter who thought I'd be a good fit for a role at DSI. The job description was super aligned with my background, so I prepped for it for like 10+ hours, updating my resume, researching the company, and prepping my answers. I joined the web-based interview via MS Teams on time, but after 15 mins of waiting, I wasn't admitted. I messaged the hiring manager, and he said he was there and waiting. I think he just forgot to admit me because of some Teams security setting. He never rescheduled or apologized, which was unprofessional and unpleasant. It's clear that's not a team I'd want to join, so save yourself the time.

I applied on Indeed and got an email for an in-person interview a few days later. I first met with the CFO one-on-one, and then some team members after that. The questions were pretty standard for a Financial Analyst role, covering background, experience, motivation for the role, and skills like multitasking, Excel, and learning software. The CFO also asked some more general questions to understand my thinking style, like how I manage work-life balance and my career aspirations. The whole process felt fast and straightforward, and I got an offer about a week after submitting my resume.

I had applied for a different position initially, but the recruiter asked if I'd be willing to apply and interview for another position she thought better suited me. I came into their office the next week, where they had me take an aptitude battery test (a combination of logic tests and math) for about the first 90 minutes, and then had 30 minute interviews with various members of the team to discuss my experiences and for them to get a better understanding of my background (as it is very nontraditional for a programmer). Each interviewer was polite and we were able to have a very good conversation about the position and the responsibilities it entails. I left the interview feeling very happy. I was shocked at how quickly I was able to get a response from them, as I got an email with an offer in two days, with a start date within a month. Their recruiter was very willing to help answer questions I had along the way. I was impressed with all the people I met while I was there. It was a very pleasant experience, which helped to put me at ease.

Applied for the job and got a quick call from HR. Then had a phone interview with questions about my background, how I heard about the job, and why I want to work at Garmin. A few days later, I was scheduled for an onsite interview with 3 managers. They mostly asked about my background and challenging situations from past projects. They didn't ask much about the application itself. They said I'd hear back in a few days, but it's been over a month, so I'm assuming it's a no.
