First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dascena.
Site Assistant
It was a short and simple process, not too technical. They wanted to check my availability and how soon I could start. They said to just be myself and they'll know if I'm a good fit. To prepare, they advised to just be honest and answer correctly because it will matter once I start the job.
- Are you able to work weekends?
- What is your earliest start date?
- Do you have a willingness to travel to different sites?
Human Resources
I had a phone screen and then a zoom interview with the head of operations. They mentioned the process might take a while and asked for patience. After over 3 weeks with no updates, I contacted the recruiter about the role's status. The recruiter reiterated the need for patience, stating they would be moving slowly. It has been nearly 2 months since my interviews, and I haven't heard back. I felt my time was disrespected and wasted, assuming they proceeded with other candidates without informing me.
- What makes you want to join Dascena?
Software Engineer
Started with an HR call, then a Hackerrank test. If that went well, I got an invitation for a Panel interview. I did the panel round and the interviewers seemed to like my performance. But then, nothing. I never heard back. It's frustrating to be ghosted after investing 3 hours in the interview process and additional time for prep. At least, some feedback or a decision within a reasonable time would be appreciated, showing respect for the candidate's time.
- A question about REST APIs and another one on file systems for the Hackerrank test.
- Discussion about my resume and a question on theoretical design implementation during the panel interview.
Data Scientist Intern
I had one interview, and it was pretty basic coding stuff in python. They wanted me to walk through some code examples and explain my thinking, and also asked me to write some simple python code, like sorting a list.
- Tell me about your experience with random forest models and how they operate.
- Can you explain the mechanics of random forest models?
- Could you demonstrate your approach to coding examples?
